Dear Brother,
Hope you are having good health. I met you friend Vijay yesterday. He told me that you are always busy with the books and do not take part in games and sports. Dear brother, a healthy body has a healthy mind. If you do not take care of your body, you will not be able to make much out of your studies. Health is wealth.
I advise you to go to bed early and get up early in the morning. Go out for a walk in the morning. Take light exercise daily. Give some time to outdoor games. Keep yourself fit. That is key to successful educational life. Do not stuff your mind with useless things.
Mother is sending you love,

Take care. Loving you,
Anwar

Dear Mother,
I received your kind letter today. It shows me your high concern about my health. It is your letters that keep me fit here. It is your love and affection that makes me feel at home here. Thanks for your so much care and love.
Well, I have recovered now. It was a temporary ailment. The doctor told that it was a slight rise in temperature due to overwork. He told me not to attend the college for a day or two. I took rest for the day and took medicines. Now I am feeling quite fresh and hale. You don’t need to worry about me. I am taking great care of my health and fitness. I have also started morning walk.
I have made a study timetable. I will spare some time for games and entertainment. Please don’t worry now.
Pay my regards to father and Aunt Amina. Love for younger Amir.

With special thanks,
Your son,

Dear Arif,
I just heard the heartbreaking news of your mother's death in an accident. I was shocked for a moment. I could not believe the news until I confirmed it from Rehan. I am really sorry for the trick the misfortune has played upon you. I am depressed for the loss you have to bear in such a raw age. We all have to bow before the Will of God.
She was really a nice lady. She always welcomed me in your home. I still remember her nice treatment with me during my stay at your home. She was polite and social. She was God-fearing and generous lady. We all are going to miss her so much
My friend, please bear this pain and trial with patience. Do not lose heart. Our commiseration is with you. Take your life to new dimensions. I pray to God to give you courage and strength.

With best wishes,
Sami

Letter to Uncle to Thank him for Birthday Gift
Examination Hall,
City A.B.C
November 03, 2016

Dear Uncle,
First of all receive my heartiest thanks for the birthday gift. I was more than happy to receive the tablet computer. You know, many of my friends have tablets. I had only an old phone. It was my desire to buy a nice tablet for me but I could not do so due to financial restraints. Father is already against these things, you know. So, I would not have been able to buy such a nice tablet if you had not gifted it. It is a token of your love for me. All of my friends have praised the tablet. It will help me in my studies. I have already installed a dictionary and PDF reader. Now I can read e-books, surf internet, prepare my notes, and do much more.
I promise that I will not give a chance to father to make a complaint. I will use it when needed. I will take care of it. It will remind me your love for me.
I wished that you had been here on my birthday. I missed you so much. I hope you will be present with me on my next birthday.
Write me more about the exciting things and customs in China.

Dear father,

I received your letter yesterday. I am grieved to learn that my poor report has hurt you all. I wish I could fly to you and beg your forgiveness. I confess my fault with shame. I had to attend my hockey practice sessions. Meanwhile, I had joined the company of some bad guys. My bad report has opened my eyes. Now I have left the bad company and all extra engagements.
I have started work in right earnest. I am now working day and night. Kindly be assured that I shall soon be worthy of your love. I hope you will all forget my past neglect.

Thanking you,

December 03, 2016

Dear son,
I have just received your progress report from your school. It is very discouraging indeed. You have badly failed in Chemistry and Biology in your 2nd term exams. Your report also tells that you are not attending classes regularly. This neglect on your part has hurt everyone at home. So much so, your mother could not believe it for hours. You are not supposed to be careless in your studies.
I warn you to mend your ways or else I shall be obliged to withdraw you from school. I hope you will try to make up your deficiency and save us from further disappointment. Do be regular and punctual. For next, don't let your school send me such reports.

Yours affectionate,

December 07, 2016.

Dear sister,

Thanks for writing regularly. Your letters are really a source of pleasure for me. You have asked about my result in quarterly exams. I could not write to you earlier as I was waiting for the result. It is out today. You will be glad to learn that I have not only passed in all the subjects but secured distinctive marks.

I got 4th position in the class. I have obtained 409 marks out of total 450 marks. My arithmetic is a bit weak. It is yet three months to the annual exams. I, therefore, hope to secure the first position in the class if I continue working hard as I am doing now. It is all the result of your support and encouragement.

A copy of my result report is attached. I am planning to come to the home in next month. I want to celebrate my birthday at home. Pay my regards to mom and dad. Love to younger Sana.

My dear Junaid,

I regret to inform you that I would not be able to attend you birthday party this year. I had an urgent assignment to be completed till 20th of this month. I have tried my best to convince my boss to grant me a leave of three days. But he has plainly refused. Actually our company is planning to launch some new products in the beginning of new year. The whole month of December is very important for us. Our team is working hard on the project. So, please excuse me for not coming to your birthday party.
Anyhow, I congratulate you on your birthday. I am sending you the gift of a tablet PC. I hope you will like it. Use it only for positive purposes and never let your father complaint. Install some educational apps and make best of its use in your education. I hope you will not disappoint me.
Pay my congratulations to your parents too. I assure you I will soon be with your all guys.

Take care and best of luck.

Write a letter to your mother to tell her that you don't want to stay in the boarding house. Ask her to put you in a day school.

Examination Hall,

December 7, 2016

Dear mother,
I was very glad to receive your kind letter yesterday. But to tell you the truth, it has made me feel home sick. Though I felt home only a month ago, yet it seems a year. The reason is that I hate being a boarder living in a dormitory with twenty other boys. Most of these boys are very naughty. They not only play nasty jokes on us but keep on teasing us till some teacher comes to our rescue. The mass meals are not of good quality. I often have to suffer abdominal problems. My hunger seems to be gone away. I can eat less and hence have become weak.
Dear mother, I am tired of this life and wish to be back home. Please ask father to put me into a day school again. I should be happier there.

I am impatiently waiting for your response.

A letter to your father requesting him to change your school.
Examination Hall,
A.B.C. (City)
December 07, 2016

Dear father,

Many thanks for your letter. I am working hard at my lessons but I doubt whether I shall be able to make any progress in this school. As a matter of fact, I am not happy here. No doubt it was once a good school but the things have changed since the transfer of headmaster.

Discipline has slackened. The boys openly defy their teachers. Most of the teachers are inexperienced and cannot control the classes. There is a rise in withdrawal ratio of the school. Even my best friends have left this school for similar reasons.

In these circumstances, I must leave this school. The Grand King School is a popular institution. It has shown excellent results during the last several years. I hope you will kindly permit me to join this school.
Waiting for your kind response,

December 08, 2016

Dear father,

I hope you are keeping good health. I am fit here. The weather has suddenly changed here. Fog and cold breeze have made the weather cold. I need a warm suit. I have to buy a sweater too. Some money is also required for purchasing a few helping books. The warm suit alone will cost 2500 rupees.

You will, therefore, send me 5000 rupees for all these things. I assure you that I shall be more economical next month. I assure you that I shall not waste a single rupee on useless things.

Write a letter to your father giving reasons why he should not press you to marry soon

House No. 152,
Officers Colony,
Kasur

Dear Father,

Your letter of the 2nd instant touched a serious topic. The proposal for my marriage is so abrupt and unexpected that I am taken by surprise.

I am only an Intermediate student as yet. Allow me to have a dip in the sea of knowledge before I have to bear other responsibilities. To have a partner so soon will mean a break with my books. If I get married now, I will not be able to pay sufficient attention to my studies. I will earn a failure as a result.

Moreover, I am planning to go abroad after completing my studies here. A wife, surely, will stand in my way. Going abroad will mean giving her worrying thoughts, unhappy hours, endless and tiring waiting and also restlessness to me. A wife will put me in fix.

Besides, I feel I must give a thought to the question of marriage. So far I had no time to do so. I must get better acquainted with sex and problems of married life before I get married.

Above all, I want to be self-supporting, I do not want to tax you for my wife as well. I have already burdened you too much. I want to stand on my own legs. I request you to reconsider your proposal.

Respect to mother and regards to all at home

yours affectionately,
Fassih Abbas
A letter of apology to a friend with whom you had a recent quarrel.
Shah House,
A-Block, Model Town,

April 15, 2017
My dear Ali,
I must begin my letter with the words of apology. I feel I was so rude to you during our last meeting at Zia’s marriage party. I have been thinking of it all these days and I want to assure you that I am really sorry for what happened.

I had, in fact, no wish to offend you. It was all due to misunderstanding. I gave false meanings to what you said. You were actually talking about something else. It was Kamran’s roared laughter which made me cut to the quick. So I became cross with you and gave you a bit of my mind. I now feel I should not have done so.

Please accept my apology in good faith for old times’ sake. I do not want to lose you. Please write back to me at once to say that you have pardoned me. I am waiting for your reply.
With kindest wishes,

Yours sincerely,
Jagga

April 15, 2017

Dear friend,
I have done very well in my General English paper in the final exams. I attempted all the questions satisfactorily. I am sure I will secure high marks in this paper.

The news must be a pleasant surprise for you. You remembered I failed miserably in English last time. In fact, I was nil in General English.

Well, I am going to tell you the secret of my success. I engaged a private tutor. I requested him to teach me grammar, especially tenses. I exercised in translation and composition as well. I put myself in hard work and result is simply wonderful. I feel so self-confident now.

Any news from home?

June 28, 2017
Dear Ahmad,
Sorry for not writing to you earlier. In fact, the last three days were very busy. I had to buy new clothes, stationery, and other things for my college welcome party. It was held yesterday. It was a great fun. We have been to college for a month. The college life is really a fascinating life. There are no strict discipline and odd rules like we had at school. The professors are very friendly. They welcomed us in such a way that I cannot explain in words. Every student in college has equal access to opportunities and resources. I am really happy for being part of such grand institution.

Our college has a magnificent large building divided into four blocks. Classrooms are air-conditioned, vast and multimedia-aided. It has a large playground. Computer and science labs and a huge library are also the part of educational activities. From every aspect, our college is a perfect college. Our seniors are very friendly and cooperative. We have realized their love from the way they have given a welcome party in our honor.

We have already covered our 33 percent course of all books. We are given a daily timetable for activities. I am satisfied with everything here. Thanks for asking me about my college life. I will keep writing to you as I find something worthy of sharing.

Yours sincerely

My Dear Asad,

Some of my class fellows have made a program to pay a visit to Murree during the summer vacations. I am also going with them. We have decided to go to Kohala, Kashmir Point, and some other places of interest. I would like to take as many photographs of natural scenery as possible. My camera is not in working order. I cannot get it repaired as I have already managed some money for the trip. Moreover, my camera does not take as good photos as does yours.

I request you to lend me your camera for a week. I assure you that I will take care of it. I will return it as soon as we come back from the trip.

I have to go to the village for some business. It is situated at a distance of 25 kilometers from here. My bike is out of order. I have given it for repair. So, I request you to lend me your bike for a day. I have to leave tomorrow morning and I will come back in the evening. This is Sunday tomorrow and you will not go to the office. I know your bike is free. I assure you that I will come back in the evening and return your bike as soon as I come back. I will drive it carefully.

A letter to your friend for the loan of money
31-1 Model Town,
Lahore.
December 15, 2018.

Dear Nawab,
Asslam-o-Alaikum. I hope you will be fine. I have just reached back home from my office. I have started working 2 hours over-time. In fact, life has become too complicated to manage all affairs in a small salary. Although my salary increased just three months ago, it was a mild increment. It did nothing good for my large family expenses.

You know the marriage of my younger sister has been fixed on the 15th of next month. I have saved some money for that occasion. But you know I have to bear my younger brother's educational expenses, my children's fee and other household expenses including utility bills. All this has left me with a little saving. I will need an extra amount of 10,000 rupees on the marriage of my sister. I know it will be difficult for you but I request you to lend me this amount. I know you had a bonus of Rs 35, 000 rupees in this month. I hope you will manage this loan somehow.

I have started working overtime. But you know overtime salary is paid at the 20th of every month. I could not get it even on the wedding day. As you plan to come here two days before the wedding, please get this money along form me. I assure you that I will return it to you as soon as I get my next salary. It will be your great favor to me.

Thanks in anticipation.
Your sincerely,
Ahmad Ali
A Letter to Friend on his Failure in Exams
46-Gulshan Ravi,
Lahore.
September 15, 2018

Dear Kashif,
I heard about your failure in the final exams of 2nd year. It is really a sad news for me. I was not expecting that type of the result of yours. I am sorry to hear that. You had been a hardworking student. The result report is not the proof of what actually you are.

The bad result does not mean that you cannot progress in life. The real failure is to quit trying. Please do not take it to heart. Instead, explore and work on your weak points. Improve your grey areas and set a new goal in life. Work even harder and show the world that you are not a failure. Life has given you a new chance to change the opinion of your friends and relatives about you. Stand up and set to work today. Do not waste your time and keep up with high spirits.

Let me tell you that exams are just formalities. These are not valid tools to test our talent. You are good at sports and games. You are an excellent painter. I think this is a big reason for your failure that you gave to much time to games just before the exams. I know you had a tournament against Walker Club. So, don't let this trifling thing bring down your morale. I am here to help you anytime you need. I hope you will not take this result not a big failure.

Convey my regards to your parents. Do join the birthday party of Ahmad on Tuesday. Raza and Jamil are also coming. See you there.

Yours sincerely,
Azizi

December 12, 2019

Dear Saima,

I just heard about your medical tests reports. I have come to know that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. I was shocked to hear about that.  I could not believe it first. Then I was clarified by Amina. It is really a bad disease but it is curable now. Thank God it has been diagnosed at an early stage. It is 100% curable at this stage. The treatment may involve some radiation or surgery or the combination of both.

I have heard that you plan to come to Shaukat Khanum Hospital Lahore for the treatment. That is really a good idea. Come as soon ass possible. Never take it to your heart. It is still in early stage and is 100 % curable. It is not dangerous till 2nd stage. I Like to express my sympathy and most earnest good wishes for your speedy recovery. I pray to God from the core of my heart for your health.

Pay my regards to aunt and uncle. Write to me about your plans for your Lahore visit.

Examination Hall,
A.B.C (city)
February 23, 2019

Dear Saleem,
It was 14th of this month when you got a temperature and could not attend your classes. After your blood tests, it came to know that it was typhoid fever. Now I am told by your elder brother that you have fully recovered from the disease. Thank God!

It was a really bad period without you. We all just missed your funny jokes and unpracticable ideas. I had already suspected about typhoid fever when you told me the symptoms. That's why we asked you to go home and take rest. It was a good thing that you got a diagnostic test and then got your checkup. Now it has been nine days since you fell ill. We lost all the two matches played against Star Team due to your absence in the team. You have always been a great bowler and never let the batsmen settle on the crease.

I congratulate you on your speedy recovery from the disease. Just take one more day to take rest and then return to the campus. We will have a final match against Sun Team on Monday. I hope you will be here among us hale and healthy. Everyone is happy to learn about your recovery from the illness.

Please do come to campus tomorrow morning. Pay our congratulations to your mom and dad.

A letter to your friend to invite him to the picnic
Examination Hall,
You Address
Dated: 12-02-2019

Dear Ali,
How are you? You have not replied to my last letter. I think you might be busy with your games. It is just twenty days ago that we were two-months holidays after our final exams. It is a long period. I have nothing special to do. I spend some time reading books and enjoying volley-ball in the evening.

Ahmad and Zohaib are also feeling bored. We have planned to visit some historical places in Lahore next week. I have contacted Zain and he has also agreed upon the idea. Zain is also taking one of his friends with him. So, we are a total of five persons ready to visit Lahore for a week. Ahmad has a friend in Lahore who is living in a private hostel. He has told us that he can arrange two rooms for a week for us. We plan to enjoy a picnic in some historical places in Lahore. I invite you to join us.

It will be a memorable picnic. Please do get some time to enjoy life. Life is an unending race. We should take pity on or body and give some time to it. We should taste the beauty of nature. Write to me when you will reach. We are anxiously waiting for your reply.

ondolence Letter to a friend on the death of his father
Your Address
City Name

Dear Friend,
I just heard the sudden death of your father. I could not believe the news. I am really shocked on hearing this bad news. It was Ali who told me about your father's death yesterday. I could not have reached early enough due to the huge distance to attend the funeral. I am really sorry about that.

Your father was a great man. He was not rich yet he managed to give you higher education. He was a man of huge courage and patience. He never let you feel inferior to others. He was very hardworking. This is the result of his constant struggle and hard work that you and your siblings are being educated in good institutions. He was a very kind and sympathetic man. I personally liked him very much due to his soft, loving and fatherly nature.

It has been an age since you parted with me. Right? Every single day brings your memories back to me. I remember the days we spent together for many reasons. You had been a great source of inspiration to me. You always encouraged me to take the initiative. I remember the days when we used to sit in the hostel canteen talking jolly.

Letter to father to increase monthly allowance

April 14, 2019

Dear Father,
I am happy and gay here. I hope you will be fine doing your business well. I am writing to you to express the things here at college. The prices of eatables and stationary have gone up due to the sudden depreciation in the value of rupee. Moreover, the increment in the prices of petrol and diesel has given rise to the goods sold at our campus.

The meal we used to get in Rs 40 is now being sold for Rs. 50. The prices of stationery have risen up to 10%. The full plate Biryani is now given for Rs. 120 which was for Rs 100 only twenty days ago. The barbers have uplifted the services charges accordingly. The price of fruits is going up too.

Under the given circumstances, It is very difficult to manage Rs 5000 for the whole month. The allowance you send every month now has ended on the 22nd of this month. I have borrowed some money from a friend to get through the rest of the month. So, I request you to increase my monthly allowance. I request you to send me at least Rs 7000 monthly.

You know I am not fond of luxuries and comforts. I spend every penny with care. I try to save as much money as possible. I know you earn this money by hard work. I assure you that I will spend it with care. I will not ask for supplementary allowance then.

Write me about mother's health. Also, write me about little Ahmad and Aysha.
Your Son,
X.Y.Z

Dear Sir,
The recent floods have rendered thousands of people homeless. They have lost all they had. Most of them had no other source of income except the land they cultivated. They are now lying in camps in a miserable condition. They have no place to go and no means of livelihood.
Through the columns of you esteemed paper, I request the readers to contribute as much as they can towards the Relief Fund started by the Government. We must thank God that we are safe. So we should be helpful to them. If we do not help them in their misery, who would? Every one of us should send at least a day’s income to the Relief Fund. Let them not think for a moment that they are being neglected in their hour of need. They are brethren and let as give the proof of our brotherhood by helping them. It is passing phase and they will look after themselves when rehabilitated.
Thanking you for your cooperation.

The Editor,
The Daily DAWN,
Karachi.

Dear Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed paper, I want to invite the attention of the district authorities to the problem of beggary in our town. Recently, the number of beggars in our town has increased manifold you. They pursue you like a shadow. Even hale and hearty people have taken to begging. Small boys and children have caught the infection. Perhaps they are made to beg by their guardians.
The beggars gather at places frequented by the people. The bus stands, market places, post offices, railway station and mosques are their favourite haunts. It is impossible to move about these places peacefully. If you sho generosity and open you purse, you are surrounded by a host of them.
Some child-lifters, in the guise of beggars, are on the look out for abducting children. Two or three cases of this kind have occurred recently, and the culprits have been caught red-handed.
The female beggars enter the houses quietly without calling out for alms at the door. If they are not noticed by the inmates, they run away with whatever they can lay hands on. They act as informers to the burglars who break into houses at night.
A prompt action on the part of Government is required to check this social evil.
Yours truly,
